Logo

Our mark, in every setting

The primary logo is a full‑colour badge. Use it as‑is wherever possible — don't recolour, distort or add effects.

Clear space & minimum size

Keep clear space around the logo equal to at least the height of the shell icon within the mark. Don't shrink the primary logo below 32px tall in digital use, or 15mm tall in print — the fish and shell detail will start to break up.

Usage

Using the mark correctly

Do

  • Use the supplied logo files at their original proportions
  • Place the mark on plain, uncluttered backgrounds
  • Use the reversed version on dark or photographic backgrounds
  • Reference us as "ECAAC" or the full club name on second mention

Don't

  • Stretch, skew, rotate or recolour the logo
  • Add drop shadows, outlines or other effects
  • Place the full‑colour logo on busy or low‑contrast backgrounds
  • Combine the mark with unrelated club or sponsor logos without approval
Colour

Our palette

Deep navy and leaf green anchor the identity, warmed up by a soft sand neutral. Use accent colours sparingly, and pair navy or green with white or sand for accessible contrast.

Voice

How we sound

Whether it's a caption, an email or a meeting announcement, ECAAC's voice stays consistent.

Knowledgeable

We speak with the confidence of experienced hobbyists, but never talk down to beginners.

Welcoming

Curiosity is the only prerequisite. Our language invites people in rather than gatekeeping.

Responsible

Animal welfare and conservation sit behind everything we say — never played for shock value.

Community‑first

We credit members, celebrate wins collectively, and write as "we," not as a faceless institution.

Photography

Real tanks, real members

Photography should feel authentic to the hobby — real aquariums, real aquascapes and real people at meetings and events, not generic stock imagery.

  • Favour natural light and true‑to‑life colour over heavy filters
  • Show real member tanks, meetings, workshops and events
  • Always credit the photographer and tank owner where known
  • Get consent before publishing recognisable photos of members
